Fitness Friday

I know I haven't been around the blog much this week. I'm not really sure of one particular reason, either. I've been busy, I've been tired, I've been busy... you know how it goes.

The same could be said for my exercising this week as well. I've been been getting up and on the elliptical in the mornings, but the evenings have been a different story. We didn't have exercise class this week, so it all just kind of fell apart.I did the Wii Fit on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Then time got away from me on Thursday.

What I did try to focus on this week was some healthier habits. I read this early in the week and made the decision to work on cutting out the diet sodas. I am working hard at drinking more water and I am trying to choose healthier snack options. I ate Craisins instead of M&M's yesterday. Did you catch that? Y'all I passed up chocolate. Suffice it to say, it's been a little difficult.

As far as progress on Wii Fit games... I have accepted the challenge to try to get to 2000 spins on the 6 minute hula hoop. I don't know if I can do it. My highest is like 1967. Are you better at one direction that the other? I find that usually I'm better at the left rotation than the right.

Oh, and just as a side note, I have instituted a 10 minute Wii Fit rule in the house. Anyone who wants to play a Wii game must first do at least 10 minutes on the Wii Fit. I just want to make sure that we're moving and active. We'll see how that goes.

Good for you! : )

Have you tried Frosted Mini Wheats Little Bites CHOCOLATE? They might make a decent snack since they're whole grain.

Okay, so I'm really impressed that you are so good about your exercise. I know you would say that you're not that consistent, but anything that you do over, say, NOTHING, is an improvement over ME!

I'm trying, but I just HATE IT. :o\

So, KUDOS to you!!

Good job! Especially on the craisins over chocolate! But I do love craisins. You could make yourself a little trail mix with craisins, nuts, and just a few dark choc. chips - would still get a dab of chocolate, but in a healthy way.

Myself, I try to limit the M&Ms by using fun size packs.

Have a great weekend!

Wowza. Love those Craisins:)

Good for you about the soda. Once you go without it for 3-4 weeks you probably won't even want it. That's what happened to me with soda several years ago and now I don't even like it.

What a fabulous idea about the Wii. If we had a Wii, we would definitely implement that rule. Good thinking mom!

I LOVE your house rule! That hula hoop is a great way to get the heart rate up, burn calories and slim down that waistline! WOO!!!

Excellent! I LOVE the new rule! I might institute that here as well...if for no other reason than to get my hubby off of his tuckus.

The challenge is still ON! Stacy at Stacy's Random Thoughts is the current leader at 1993 and I'm at 1992....so BRING IT! LOL

Shock and awe. Shock. and. awe. You gave up chocolate for craisins. I bow to your will power.

Keep up the good work!

Absolutely a fantastic idea about the Wii. I am totally going to do that...in a few years when our tiny one is playing along with us lol

I find that keeping a huge bottle of water around is a great way to consume more. I fill it up in the morning and can monitor how much I've been drinking. I chug it down a few times a day and it's gone in no time.

What a GREAT house rule! I'm still working on drinking more water...some days I do well, sometimes I forget. It's a work in progress! ;)

Jenn's funny with the Hula Hoop challenge - I can't seem to get past 1993 - think you can pass the two of us up? ;)

I'm looking forward to reading your update next week! :)
