Disney on Ice – Toy Story 3

Comments are now closed.

*********

Out of all the Disney/Pixar films, Toy Story is, by far, my favorite. I can still get sucked into watching any of the three movies at any time. The characters are so wonderfully written and the story so engaging.

And what mother couldn’t relate to the third of the movies on some level? I heard of so many mothers of college or near college age that were so touched by the ending and the whole premise of Andy going away to college. Personally, my favorite and most touching scene was when Andy was talking about each toy to the little girl that would be their new owner and telling what he loved about each of them. It reminds me so much of how personally God loves each of us.

But now I’m straying from the topic at hand.

The point of all this is that Disney on Ice is bringing Toy Story 3 to the American Airlines Center in Dallas, March 30th through April 3rd.

Color Show Logo_D31

It includes memorable moments from Toy Story and Toy Story 2 to create the ultimate Toy Story experience. It is a high-energy, jam-packed adventure that will take audiences to the edge of their seats and beyond.

I have been given a family pack of 4 tickets to give away for the March 30th performance. So if you’d like a chance to win these tickets, here are the rules:

  • Leave a comment on this blog post telling me your favorite scene or character from any of the 3 Toy Story movies. (Please include an email address so that I may communicate with you if you are the winner.)
  • For an extra chance to win, leave another comment on this blog post and include a link to a Facebook or Twitter post about this giveaway.

The giveaway will end on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at midnight. I will select the winner at random and will announce the winner on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 via an email to the winner.

Never fear, if you don’t win the family four pack of tickets, tickets are available for purchase. I should be receiving information about any discounts on tickets soon and will share those details on my Facebook page and on Twitter.

*Thanks to Feld Entertainment for my family’s tickets and the tickets to giveaway for this event. We are super excited about it!

More than just a particular scene or toy, Toy Story reminds me of a place in my own life. The first of the trilogy came out in 1995, when I was in 7th grade. So over the years I viewed this movie alongside 'my kids' (babysitting charges) more times than you can imagine!

I love that "you've got a friend in me" puts a picture in my mind's eye of a 7 yr old Patterson and a 3 yr old Palmer dancing with glee, and not a care in the world, despite the true heartbreak they were really living, after their daddy passed away.

I love remembering all the little faces that different scenes and characters bring back to me. For me it was more about the little lives I was watching it with.

And now that I'm a mom, my little girl loves Toy Story... and its still all about the little face I see when we watch it. I'm burning more sweet memories of an excited little child in my heart.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Toy Story!! I can never repay Disney enough for this movie, because it was when I was pregnant with my daughter, sticking Toy Story in the vcr was the only way I could guarantee a nap~ it's the movie my son wanted to watch over, and over, and over, and...well, you get the idea. I love all of the characters, but even to this day, there are catch phrases from the movies that our family uses regularly, like "Run like the wind, Bullseye", or (said in the alien voice) "Unimind". Anyways, I hope I win, because I want to give them to our neighbor boy for his 4th birthday!

We are huge Toy Story fans in this house! We watch the movies at least four times a week.

Buzz Lightyear is by far our favorite character. Hayden has his action figure and he saves the dog, dolls and Elmo from any danger on a daily basis!

What a great giveaway!!

Hi friend! Our favorite character on Toy Story 3 is Mongo (?) the big baby who went thru a very traumatic situation. With us embarking on our foster care path, my heart broke for this doll. Even though it was fake, this is real in a lot of kids' lives and it sets the course for them of a life of hardship or hopefully redemption.
We loved this movie! What a blessing this would be.

We LOVE all the Toy Story movies! Our favorite character is Woody. He is so fun. Favorite scene is when Buzz and Andy are trying to catch up to the moving truck riding the car.

It definitely has been a memorable movie for all ages.

Toy story is a favorite around here... As of today the favorite character is Jessie( we hear a ton of "yodalaaaheeeooo" throughout our house). Tomorrow the quote could change but for now we have our very own Jessie!! Karsen is upset because Chad hasn't seen Toy Story 3 yet and everyday she reminds us of that!!! I love that all 3 of the Toy Story movies are just as much fun for grown-ups as they are for our kiddos!

Our favorite is Jesse. My 4 yr old favorite scene is when Mr Potato head turns into a tortilla and the bird pecks him. she loves saying "What are you looking at feathers?". Since I was layed off almost 3 mo ago, one of the 3 toy story movies is viewed in our home daily. I remember not telling my daughter Addi i had a suprise so on our way I stopped and bought her the Jesse doll. She and Jesse sat in the seat watching Toy Story 3 together on the big screen. Now Jesse sleeps with her every nt.

Lilah just started watching Toy Story this year when the new one came out and we took her to the theater to see it! Big time fun for my two year old - although when they were about to go into the blazing fire...a little scary for her. I digress...she now calls it "Toy Box" and asks to watch whenever she can. It may have eclipsed Peter Pan for her...just maybe.

Just posted on my FB page...also Lilah's fav character for the moment is Woody...She hasn't really met Jesse yet since she's seen the first one so many times and the third one only once.

How do you pick a favorite of a cast that has become a household family? But if I had to choose, it would be Woody. He is the father of the group, the moral compass, and has a heart of gold. You know that with every situation and in each of the movies, he brings everyone back together as a family and remains loyal to Andy at all costs. No matter your favorite character, we all know the theme song..."you've got a friend in me.."

Thanks for the stroll! ;-)

Favorite characters are Rex and Woody because my soon to be 3 year old loves them. He is hoping for a "big Jessie" for his birthday to match Woody and Rex. But more than that he would be thrilled to see the toy story show on ice.
