Conversations with a 3 year old

This is an actual conversation that took place in my car on Thursday evening on our way to my aerobics class.

Son: I want my sandwich.

Mom: What sandwich?

Son: I want my sandwich that I didn't finish.

Mom: You didn't have a sandwich.

Son: Yes I did. It's in the car.

Mom pauses to think for a moment.

Mom: Oh, you mean the sandwich from last week? I threw that away.

Son (sobbing uncontrollably): But, I waaaaant iiiiitttt! I want my saaaaandwiiiiich!

Mom (to Dad on the phone): You are NEVER going to believe the conversation I just had.

That's hilarious! I'm relieved that you didn't just find him eating the sandwich that he FOUND in the car! :o)

Good for you that were on top of things enough to locate and dispose of the sandwich.

In the 'Burb I often do not discover items behind the third seat until they are petrified. Hearing the crunching would be my alarm. Your boy is blessed.

Although I do rest securely, knowing my family will never starve if we get lost or in an accident on some remote road!
